About Me

My name is Orlando Villarreal. I often go by the name “CommandZer01” or by “Command”. I started executing web design back in 2004 with HTML and CSS. Then I went off to college at the University of Texas at San Antonio where I learned C++, Java, and JavaScript.

After school, I returned to Austin, Texas where I grew up. I decided to further my degree into Web Development at Austin Community College where I expanded on the new and ever-expanding web trends. After earning my degree, I decided to become a freelancer for a little while. Then I joined The MOD Studio working on custom built websites utilizing WordPress, Woocommerce, Shopify, Big Commerce and Volusion. Also as a part-time gig, I manage the website Gamer Assault Weekly. Currently, I work with Skunkworx Labs working with a team to build and design enterprise software and websites. I have also joined the Merivis Foundation as a marketing consultant.

I decided to start this blog to pass along my knowledge on web development, and hopefully clear up some misconceptions about the web as well as help answer a few questions along the way. I also see this as a teaching tool to help new developers who have decided to pursue web development, so that they will not be caught off guard by the many things they will encounter in the future. And finally, I see this as a way for me to be open with future employers who want the truth, which is why I believe in being fully transparent with my skills and my knowledge.
